Bhadravati, 6 April 2025 - As part of the Jubilee Year 2025 celebrations, Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Gandhinagar, Bhadravati, organized a remarkable Bible Exhibition from 6th to 8th April 2025. This event marked a historic milestone for the parish, offering a vivid and immersive journey through the Holy Scriptures.
The entire Bible was presented in 11 creatively designed segments, each meticulously prepared by one of the 11 Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs). These segments reflected extraordinary effort, artistic expression, spiritual depth, and a profound reverence for the Word of God.
The exhibition was solemnly inaugurated with a video message from Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Shimoga. This was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the opening of the Holy Bible, and a symbolic reading of the Scriptures. The inaugural function was graced by Rev. Fr. Simon Pinto, Diocesan Coordinator of all Commissions, Fr. Steevan D’Sa, Parish Priest, and Sr. Wilma Rebello, Superior of St. Charles Borromeo Convent. In his inaugural address, Fr. Simon commended the parish community for their deep love, reverence, and commitment to the Word of God.
Once opened to the public, the exhibition attracted a steady stream of visitors who were deeply moved and inspired. Many shared that the experience not only deepened their understanding of the Bible but also ignited a renewed love for the Scriptures. The creative displays offered an engaging, educational, and spiritually enriching encounter with God’s Word.
The exhibition fostered a strong sense of joy, unity, and collaboration among the BEC members. It significantly enhanced their enthusiasm and commitment to evangelization, while also deepening their spiritual lives.
The event was meticulously planned and executed by the Parish Bible Commission, under the dedicated leadership of Sr. Theresa Mascarenhas SCB, whose vision and commitment were instrumental in bringing the event to life. Parish Priest Fr. Steevan D’Sa provided unwavering motivation and spiritual guidance throughout the preparation and execution.
The program was gracefully anchored by Sr. Theresa Mascarenhas, with a heartfelt welcome extended by Mrs. Anitha Prakash and a warm vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Preethi.
This Bible Exhibition was not only a joyful and historic celebration but also a powerful spiritual encounter that reignited a passion for the Word of God in the hearts of the faithful.
Visitors experienced the richness of the Scriptures brought to life through detailed models, interactive displays, charts, biblical figures, and maps—making the Word of God tangible, visual, and memorable.
