Good Shepherd Church, Gopala, Shimoga, successfully organized a vibrant and enriching five-day Divya Jyothi camp for children from April 1st to April 5th, 2025 for parish children. The camp was held in the church hall and welcomed enthusiastic participation from 34 children, ranging from 1st Standard to 8th Standard.
The primary objective of the camp was to provide a platform for children to engage in various learning and recreational activities that promote their overall development. The camp was well planned and executed under the guidance of the parish priest, Fr. Stephan Albuquerque, with dedicated leadership from Br. Mario Aranha and Br. Abhishek, who conducted the camp activities with great zeal and dedication.
Throughout the five days, the children were involved in a series of group activities designed to foster teamwork, creativity, and interaction. The program included both indoor and outdoor games, which helped the children stay physically active while having fun. Alongside these recreational activities, the camp featured informative and engaging sessions on various topics, aimed at enhancing the children’s knowledge, Bible class, moral values, and life skills.
The smooth functioning and success of the camp were made possible due to the wholehearted support from the teachers, animators, and parishioners, who contributed in multiple ways. Their selfless involvement ensured a nurturing and safe environment for all the children.
One of the most heartening aspects of the camp was the active and enthusiastic participation of all the children. They showed immense interest in every activity, responded positively to the sessions, and interacted with joy and curiosity. The camp was memorable and transformative experience for all of us.
