On March 3, 2025, the Laity Commission of Church of Our Lady of Vailankanni, Gandhinagar, Bhadravathi, visited Sudhama Destitute Home, run by the Missionaries of Charity Sisters in Harihar, as part of the Jubilee Year 2025 celebrations.
A group of 40 parishioners, both men and women, participated in this visit. The inmates were comforted and uplifted through various cultural activities organized by the parish members. The interaction brought joy to the residents, who were delighted by the performances and the time spent together.
As a gesture of love and sharing, gifts were distributed to the inmates, and a special lunch, sponsored by the participants, was served to them. This time of fellowship was deeply meaningful for both the visitors and the residents.
The visit was graced by the presence of our parish priest, Fr. Steevan D’Sa, along with Sr. Wilma, Superior of Nirmala Convent, and Sr. Shobhana, Director of the Laity Commission of the parish.
After a heartfelt and enriching experience, the group returned to the parish, carrying with them the joy of having shared in the love and compassion of Christ.
