Mission Centres

St Joseph Vaz Mission Centre, Molakalmuru

This Mission centre was started on 18-06-2003. Rev Fr Alphonse Lobo was appointed as the first Director of this new Mission Centre. St Joseph Vaz is the Patron of this centre.

• The new Presbytery was blessed and inaugurated on 18-03-2005
• The new Church was blessed and inaugurated on 04-04-2006, by Most Rev Gerald Isaac Lobo the Bishop of Shimoga.
• The main focus of the Mission Centre is evangelization and education.
• Deepika School was started in the year 2006-07.
• At present the centre has seven catholic families around Molakalmuru Town.
• Sisters of Ursuline Franciscan Order of Mysore Province collaborate with the mission centre in its Pastoral and social activities.
