The Shimoga unit of the Conference of Religious India (CRI) held a significant event on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Sannidhi, the Shimoga Diocesan Pastoral Centre. The meeting commenced with a short prayer. Fr. Arun Luis SJ a Jesuit Priest from Karnataka was the distinguished keynote speaker.
The central theme of this gathering revolved around a deep exploration and discussion of the "Crucial Role of Religious Figures in Nation-Building." During his presentation, Fr. Arun underscored the significance of "Eddelu Karnataka," a grassroots people's political campaign that represents a new ray of hope and a novel model for nation-building.
Rev. Fr. Jerome OSB, a key member of the KRCR executive committee, also graced the occasion and encouraged the assembly to engage in constructive efforts for our beloved country. Following his address, CRI members were divided into four zones to formulate an action plan for the upcoming year, taking into consideration the valuable insights gained from the input session.
In his closing remarks, Fr. Sunil OCD, the President of CRI's Shimoga unit, urged the fathers and sisters to work together cohesively as a zone. This event left 87 participants with an enriching and enlightening experience, setting the stage for meaningful contributions to the nation-building process. The meeting ended at 1.30 pm with lunch.
