Sagar: The first training for the Parish Pastoral Plan-2024 was held on 16 November 2023 for the PPC, PFC, animators and co-animators of BECs, office-bearers of all the associations, priests and religious of the parish of St Joseph. Speaking on the occasion, the Parish Priest and Vicar General, Msgr Felix Joseph Noronha said that we are here to plan for 2024 and very soon we will have a PARISH PASTORAL PLAN. He requested the participants to get involved in the process. There were 29 participants including the Parish Priest, Asst priest and religious both men and women.
The resource persons for the day were Fr Stany Dsouza and Fr Duming Dias. Fr Duming set the tone by telling them why they were here and what they are supposed to do in a short time given to them. Fr Stany spoke on the importance and role of the laity in the mission of the church. Hence they were the chosen ones to accompany the church and get actively involved in carrying out activities.
Thereafter, Fr Duming Dias, the Director of Sannidhi, Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Shimoga explained in short what is planning, why we need planning, how to plan and how to implement what we plan. He also informed that there are 22 Commissions and we would club them and make 8 Parish Commission Committees.
Soon after the participants were divided into 8 groups and they were instructed to follow the objectives of their commission's and plan one activity for each Commission. At the end, they were ready with a plan and they were encouraged to bring it into a book form.
Earlier, the planning session began with a prayer by Msgr Felix Noronha. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Francis, Secretary of PPC. It got concluded with a small prayer.
